Upon arrival and hotel transfer, your Vietcirlce guide will take care of you. After a short rest, we start to visit the National Museum (closed Tuesdays) at the former Royal Palace. It displays a collection of artefacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture dating from the days of the early kings right through to the last sovereign. During our time here, we visit the impressive stupa of WatVissoum and the shrines of WatAham and WatMai, we then climb up to the top of Mount Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a panoramic view of the city at sunset and the Mekong River. From there, straight to the Night Market, where you can find a lovely selection of handmade textiles made by the locals and hill tribe people surrounding LuangPrabang. Good night in Luang Prabang.

Today, we enjoy a short-guided tour seeing the city’s oldest temple of WatSene and the magnificent WatXieng Thong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represents classical. Laotian architecture. We then embark on a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives us a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside as well time to explore the mysterious Pak Ou Caves. There are two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left in Pak Ou by pilgrims. Along the way, we stop at the village of Ban Xang Hai, where they make the local rice wine. On return, we take a short drive to Ban Phanom, a small village known for its hand weaving. Back to your hotel at Luang Prabang.

Day 3: LUANG PRABANG – Ethnic villages & Waterfalls
An early option gives you the fantastic opportunity to attend in the daily morning rituals of saffron-clad monks collecting offerings of Alms (often in the form of sticky rice) from the faithful residents. This tradition is very unique in Laos, being the only Buddhist nation still preserving the ritual. From there you will visit the morning Phousi Market, where you will see such diverse offerings as dried buffalo skin, local tea and saltpeter among the chickens, vegetables and hill-tribe weavings.

Laos is also known for its traditional crafts, and today you will visit local villages of Lao ethnic minority groups at Ban Ouay, a Hmong village, Ban Ou, Lao-Loum Village and Ban Thapene, all Khmu villages. This then takes us to the beautiful Khouangsi Waterfall where you can cool off with a refreshing swim in the pools or walk along the forest trails. On the way to LuangPrabang by late afternoon, we stop at Ban Xang Khong, a village well known for its silk weavings and for its Saa(jute) Papermaking. We join the city by late evening to admire the sunset at WatSiphouthabath, before the last night in Luang Prabang

After breakfast, enjoy your leisure time to venture into town and stroll around the shopping area. Then we flight to our next destination: Vietnam. On arrival at Airport, your guide drive you to your hotel in Hanoifor a refreshing break or a promenade around the Old French Quarters. After a traditional dinner, a unique and enchanting Water Puppet Show will be performed for you,before wonderful dreams in your comfortable room!

Day 5: HANOI City Tour – LAO CAI by night train
Full day city tour to the historical spots as the Military Museum and the unmistakable Temple of Literature: this ancient Sanctuary built in the 11th century was the oldest university in Vietnam.
Then we take you to cultural highlights: - the mysterious One Pillar Pagoda with his famous lotus shape and understand his special meaning – the beautiful landscape of the West Lake dominated by Quan Thanh Temple - and follow us into the Legend of the Golden Turtle to see the Restored-Sword Lake surrounding the Ngoc Son Temple. Then walk through Ceramic Street to Dong Xuan Market.    
After dinner, to avoid wasting your time, we’ll travel meanwhile by night-train to be fit at the next step of your adventure: Lao Cai.

Day 6: LAO CAI-Lao Chai & Tavan Trek – SAPA
After arrival at Lao Cai, let’s explore the Dragon Jaw Mountain (Ham Rong 1600 m high) to have and at the top a panorama view of Sapa world-known for its terraced rice fields and wild native orchid’s garden. By following this very popular trekking route passing through Lao Chai village of Black Hmong minority and then to Tavan hamlet of Giay minority to experience the daily lives of both rural communities’ livings. Back to have a well-deserved rest at your nice hotel in Sapa.

Day 7: SAPA – Bac Ha Market - LAO CAI – HANOI by night train
Let’s go throughthe beautiful and diverse landscape of Bac Ha valley. And visit Bac-Ha Market well-known for its unique variety of handicrafts and to encounter more highland’s tribes: the Flower-Hmong, the colorful Tai Thai, the busy Nùng gathered to trade together and with the visitors.
We will have lunch in this picturesque spot before to transfer to Lao Cai station to run to Hanoi by the night train, but after a quiet local dinner of course!

Day 8:  HANOI – HALONG Bay
Early in the morning, we head straight to the World Heritage Site of Halong Bay by coach. Now we are ready for adventure cruise by jonque to feel immersed in the wonderful scenery of the Halong Bay, a skilful masterpiece of nature. You can have optional activities as fishing, kayak trips to visit fantastic limestone islets and surprising caves. Or just jump in the emerald waters to refresh. At lunch, seafood and different dishes are served on board. After dinner, have a quiet night in your Jonque cabin.

Day 9:  HALONG Bay - HANOI
After breakfast, you’ll enter in the mysterious underground world of Prince Dragon and Lady Cloud to explore the unique shapes of stalagmites and stalactites in the amazing caves and grottoes of Halong Bay. Enjoy a brunch buffet and relax on the magnificent Bay, before to return to Ha Noi.
“On the way back, we’ll visit Bat Trang traditional village very famous for its handmade ceramics and porcelain pottery. In the same area (at only 30 minutes) , you’ll find But Thap, the finest pagodas in the northern Vietnam with more than 50 statues including the sculptural thousand-handed and thousand-eyed Guanyin Goddess on a lotus lifted up by dragons.

Day 10: HANOI– Danang – HOIAN
Flight to Danang and overland to the ancient town of Hoi An, charming and wonderfully preserved, combining Chinese, Japanese and European influences.
Start by a promenade through the old sections to visit for instance the Fujian Assembly Hall carried out with statues, lacquered boards, murals and the altar of the Sailor Goddess worshipped by Cantonese migrants since 1690.
But the most particular heritage of its History is reflected in the unique architecture of the 17th century’s Japanese Covered Bridge built on the back of a giant Dragon according to a local Legend.
Back to Danang for your nice accommodation. 

Day 11:  DANANG - HUE
Early in the morning, let’s trekking to The FiveMarble Mountains (each of them are named after the Fivecosmologic elements of the Universe). First discover Linh Ung Pagoda only 100m from Tam Thai Temple overlooking the East Sea and Tang Chon Cave also in the same area. But the most spectacular of this place is the magnificent Tower of Xa Loi (15 m high) with a beautiful coast scenery and the curious Cave of Hell (Am Phu).
Stopat the interesting stone carving village of Hoa Hai, before backto Danang to visit the archeological Cham Museum and its unique sculptured artefacts. Then relax on the smooth sand of My Khe Beach well known for Spa because of the healthy sea waters (ideal temperature and salinization).
Next destination for overnight: the Imperial City of Hue.

Day 12:  HUE City Tour – Ho Chi Minh City
From your hotel, we’ll start the visit at the Imperial Citadel and the Grand Palace of the last dynasty.
Next you’ll see the Khai Dinh Tomb protected by the statues of his guard and the Tu Duc tomb surrounded by gardens and hidden secrets.
As a crowning final have a glance on the Heavenly Goddess Pagoda with it over 20 meter high tower and magnificent scenery of the Perfume River beyond. Flight to Ho Chi Minh City for your first night in Southern Vietnam.

Day 13:  Ho Chi Minh City – CAN THO Mekong Delta trek
After a breakfast, let’s go for a Mekong trek: only a 75 km drive to My Tho. From here we start a cruise on a covered speed boatalong hidden creeks and peaceful villages to Mekong River estuary; and visit floating fish-farm houses. Reaching an islet, we’ll have Vietnamese lunchat a garden restaurant.At the next stage of our excursion, we’ll have a quiet Sampan cruise into small canals through the mangroves to grasp the fairy sight of the Nine Dragons Rivers world.
Sailing forward, we’ll visit orchards to taste tropical fruits and discover the local coconut candy production process, tasting candy & coconut pulp. Before overnight in Can Tho, the capital of Mekong Delta surrounded by green rice fields, you’ll enjoy traditional music.

Day 14:  CAN THO - Ho Chi Minh City
After early breakfast, continue our Sampan cruise on Hau River to visit Cai Rang Floating Markets. You’ll be curious to see how vegetables, flowers, fish and rice are traded from boat to boat.
Then we drive you to Binh Thuy ancient house not only attractive because of its lushly design which combines Vietnamese and French architecture, but also due to its wonderful orchid and cactus garden with seven rocks symbolizing the Seven Heroes.
After lunch in Mekong Restaurant, it is time to leave for Ho Chi Minh City. We drive you first in Cholon to visit the Chinatown Market and the Heavenly Lady Temple before a magic night in Saigon.

Day 15: Ho Chi Minh – CU CHI Tunnels – City Tour

  • AM: We drive about 65kmto Cu Chi tunnels to witness the intense fighting that occurred here. You’ll explore a part ofthe impressive labyrinth of tunnels (200km long) and trapdoors used by the guerrillas during the war; and imagine how the people could live in this underground village. We also stop at a rubber plantations and a friendly family will show you how rice paper is made. Back to Saigon for lunch at Pho 2000 President’s Clinton favorite restaurant.
  • PM: Immerse in Saigon History:the unmistakable Reunification Palace and the former US Headquarters. You’ll also find the legacy of French architecture (19th century) in places like: the Cathedral of Notre Dame, the ancient post office and theBen Thanh market.Then admire the fine painting skillsof local artistsat a lacquer ware workshop. After a coffee-break at Rex Hotel rooftop for a panoramic view over old Saigon, we have a walk in the hype Dong Khoi Avenue famous for silk and other shopping streets like Le Loi Boulevard. Before join your room, you can stroll in the glittering city by night.

Day 15: Departure
After a farewell breakfast, we’ll transfer you to Tan Son Nhat Airport. We expect see you again at your next holidays in another Vietcircle tour. Good journey!

Reservations during peak times (Christmas, New Year, Vietnamese Lunar New Year, National Holidays) are subject to supplements.
